Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Graffiti (singular: graffito) is writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a
public place.[1] Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings, and it has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Egypt,
Ancient Greece, and the Roman Empire.[2] In modern times, paint (particularly spray paint) and marker pens have become the most commonly used graffiti materials. In
most countries, marking or painting property without the property owner's consent is considered defacement and vandalism, which is a punishable crime. Graffiti may also
express underlying social and political messages and a whole genre of artistic expression is based upon spray paint graffiti styles. Within hip hop culture, graffiti has
evolved alongside hip hop music, b-boying, and other elements.[3] Unrelated to hip-hop graffiti, gangs use their own form of graffiti to mark territory or to serve as an
indicator of gang-related activities. Controversies that surround graffiti continue to create disagreement amongst city officials, law enforcement, and writers who wish to
display and appreciate work in public locations. There are many different types and styles of graffiti and it is a rapidly developing art form whose value is highly contested
and reviled by many authorities while also subject to protection, sometimes within the same jurisdiction, modern style graffiti, stencil graffiti emerges, Early New York

change it. The variations are infinite. But there is one important rule you have to follow: the structure of the
letter you are starting out with must always remain intact. In other words, an
H must always retain the
parts that make it readable as an
H. Notice in the example below how the letter H is still an H even at step
6. The same goes for all letters of the alphabet, as well as numbers. This is the secret to learning graffiti.
The structure of the letter (or number) must always remain the same!

Step 1. Start by drawing an “H” with a pencil. You should have 2 vertical strokes and one horizontal stroke.

Step 2. Draw a bar around each stroke. Overlap the edges of the bars.

Step 3. Erase the inside lines of the “H”.

Step 4. Now redraw the letter, but this time BEND the 2 vertical bars and the horizontal bar. Bend them as little or as
much as you want, but make sure your letter still looks like an "H". That is called Letter Structure.

Step 5. Draw 4 small bars at the top and bottom ends of the vertical bars to form serifs. Then draw a long, curvy arrow
coming off the end of the bar on the right side.

Step 6. Draw a dark line all around the outside edges of the letter. Draw 2 small bits on the left side. Erase all of the
inside guidelines. This is your finished Wildstyle “H”.
